We will open registration mid January.  There is no guarantee of entry until you register, however, registration is open until 1 week before race weekend or until we reach capacity.

Yes, our races are sanctioned, insured and certified by USATF.  The 5k and Half Marathon to be certified soon.

The Marathon is an Official Boston Qualifying Course.  USATF Certification:  MA23007JK

Yes, we are a Boston Marathon Qualifier. However, entrance into the Boston Marathon is an entirely different process handled by the Boston Athletic Association. We simply provide the official time in which you finished your Cape Cod Marathon.

We will happily accept walkers who are trained to finish in the three hour time limit (11:00am) for the Half Marathon and six hours (2:00pm) for the Marathon, which is a 13:43 per mile pace.  Race Management cannot guarantee race medals, finish times and refreshments to runners who finish after those times.

Because this creates a hazard to our runners on an open course, baby joggers and strollers, bicycles and hand cycles are not allowed. The roads are open to vehicular traffic and therefore these wheeled items are a safety hazard. The only exception to this is the allowance of Push-Rim/Duo wheelchair entrants.

Yes. The Cape Cod Marathon Weekend has Athletes with Disabilities divisions for both the Half Marathon and Full Marathon. Please contact the race at info@capecodmarathon.com before registering or with any questions or for more information.

Although there is not a ban on headphones/ear buds, we highly recommend not wearing them. The course is open to regular vehicular traffic and the roads are very narrow. To be fair to the other runners around you, it is important that you can hear oncoming traffic, runners, Push-Rim/Duo athletes and signals that are given to runners to keep everyone safe.

Yes, if you are a current USATF-NE member that is racing on a Team for the Marathon Championship you need to reach out to your Team Leader for a special code to enter at registration. If you are a USATF runner with a current membership and are running un-attached please email info@capecodmarathon.com for more information on how to register.

No, we do not offer pacers at any of our events.

We do not offer post race showers.

We do not have an “official” charity.  We make donations to local school athletic and scholastic groups, as well as other worthy non profit organizations.  Our proceeds go toward Falmouth Running Club youth running programs, scholarships, environmental initiatives, and community events.  You may run in the name of any charity, if you wish to personally raise funds for an organization.

Yes. The Cape Cod Marathon Weekend provides complimentary bib numbers for the Half Marathon, Full Marathon and the 5k to runners who have met a qualifying time. Details are found on the race webpages for the Half Marathon,  Full Marathon, and 5k.  Travel, lodging and all other expenses are the responsibility of the athlete.

Yes. We have situated the four Relay Exchange Zones so that they are easily accessible by car. Each relay team is responsible for getting their runners to their appropriate Relay Exchange Zone in time for the handoff to the next runner. There are instructions and driving directions on the Marathon Relay page that will help you navigate the course.  Relay cars are not allowed to drive on the Marathon course.

NO. We get it, plans changes and injuries happen. However, due to the nature of events, we still must ensure that we cover all of our expenses therefore, we have a no refund policy. As stated on the website and waiver, your entry fee is non-refundable for any reason that may keep you from running. However, if you have registered for the Marathon, Marathon Half, Chowdah Challenge or 5k (not applicable to relay teams) but find you are unable to participate, you may choose to defer your entry to the following year in accordance with our deferral policy (see deferral question below).

Yes. Marathon, Half Marathon, Chowdah Challenge and 5k deferrals are allowed from the date of registration through September 1st.  Absolutely NO deferrals will be allowed after September 1st.  Once a deferral is requested, the decision is final. The deferral is good for one year only. An entrant with a deferral will be discounted 40% for the next year’s race. You can request a deferral by sending an email to info@capecodmarathon.com Deferrals are not allowed for Relay Teams.

Participant transfers (runner to runner) are allowed for a $10 fee through September 1st.   Participant transfers (runner to runner) after September 1st are NOT allowed. You can transfer by emailing info@capecodmarathon.com and requesting a transfer.
