Policies

I understand the Cape Cod Marathon, Half & Relay, Chowdah Challenge and 5K does not refund registration fees under ANY circumstances.

However, if I have registered for the Marathon, Half Marathon, Chowdah Challenge, or 5K (not applicable to relay teams or virtual events) individually but find I am unable to participate I may choose to defer my entry to 2025 in accordance with our deferral policy.

2024 Marathon, Half Marathon, Chowdah Challenge and 5k deferrals are allowed from the date of registration through September 1, 2024. Absolutely NO deferrals will be allowed after September 1, 2024. Once a deferral is requested, the decision is final. The deferral is good for one year only. An entrant with a deferral will be discounted 40% for the 2025 race. You can request a deferral by sending an email to info@capecodmarathon.com. Deferrals are not allowed for Relay Teams. Deferrals are allowed for one (1) year only.

In consideration of accepting this entry, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, hereby waive and forever release any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Falmouth Running Club, Event Director and staff, RaceRoster.com, USATF, USATF-NE, SouthCoast Wind, Presidential Timing and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, volunteers and employees for any and all injuries to me or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during or after the event. I recognize, intend and understand that this release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees.

If I choose to run the full , the half marathon, and/or the 5k I grant permission to all the foregoing to use my name, voice and images of myself in any photographs, motion pictures, results, publications or any other print, video graphic or electronic recording of this event for legitimate purposes. I also acknowledge and agree that the entry fee is non-refundable, whether I can personally run or not and even if the race is cancelled due to reasons beyond the control of the Organizers, such as, but not limited to, weather, public safety or any other situations that prevent the event from occurring safely.

I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able to do so and properly trained. I attest that I will be properly trained to complete the 5k distance within the one-hour time limit and/or the half marathon in the three-hour time limit and/or the full marathon in the six-hour time limit. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic, and course conditions, and waive any and all claims which I might have based on any of those and other risks typically found in running a road race. I acknowledge all such risks are known and understood by me. I agree to abide by all decisions of any race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I certify as a material condition to my being permitted to enter this race that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the completion of this event.

In the event of an illness, injury or medical emergency arising during the event I hereby authorize and give my consent to the Event Director to secure from any accredited hospital, clinic and/ or physician any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care. I agree that I will be fully responsible for payment of any and all medical services and treatment rendered to me including but not limited to medical transport, medications, treatment and hospitalization.

By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or a parent or adult guardian for all children under 18 years) having read and agreed to the above release and waiver.

The SouthCoast Wind Cape Cod Marathon Weekend does not allow, support or encourage the buying, selling or trading of bib numbers for any of our races, for any reason. Running with someone else’s name & information causes chaos and can be potentially dangerous in the event of a medical emergency.
