Yes, we are a Boston Marathon Qualifier. However, entrance into the Boston Marathon is an entirely different process handled by the Boston Athletic Association. We simply provide the official time in which you finished your Cape Cod Marathon.

Half: MA24018JK

5K: MA24023JK

We will happily accept walkers who are trained to finish in the three hour time limit (11:00am) for the Half Marathon and six hours (2:00pm) for the Marathon, which is a 13:43 per mile pace.  Race Management cannot guarantee race medals, finish times and refreshments to runners who finish after those times. If you can’t finish the race within the time limit please move onto a sidewalk and assume responsibility for your own safety. (cut off times are determined by our event permit, which allows us to the use roads, police support and other town resources for a specified period of time).

Per the Falmouth Public Safety team: because this creates a hazard to runners on an open course, baby joggers and strollers, bicycles, dogs and hand cycles are not allowed. The roads are open to vehicular traffic and therefore these wheeled items are a safety hazard. The only exception to this is the allowance of Push-Rim/Duo wheelchair entrants.

Race(s) are held rain or shine, unless we determine that conditions are too dangerous. Decisions are made on or before race day by race officials and local law enforcement/safety officials. If the race(s) are cancelled due to inclement weather, there will be NO refunds. This is consistent with USATF recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, Cape Cod Marathon Weekend reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race(s).

If there is inclement weather during the race, it is your responsibility as a race participant to follow the instructions from race officials and law enforcement/safety officials. If you disregard instructions from the officials, you are doing so at your own risk.

Although there is not a ban on headphones/ear buds, we highly recommend not wearing them. The course is open to regular vehicular traffic and the roads are very narrow. To be fair to the other runners around you, it is important that you can hear oncoming traffic, runners, Push-Rim/Duo athletes and signals that are given to runners to keep everyone safe.
