Cape Cod Marathon – 5K – presented by Shipwrecked


The 5K will be on SUNDAY October 11, 2026 at 8:15 am

The race starts and finishes at the Mullen Hall School (130 Katharine Lee Bates Road, Falmouth, MA)

The 5K is run on an out-and-back, flat, fast course.

All courses for Cape Cod Marathon races are open race courses. Streets are open to traffic. Please run on the right sides of the roads (running with traffic) and be aware of your surroundings.

Jogging strollers and dogs are NOT permitted!


Registration

December 1 – December 13: $35 + fees

December 14 – March 31: $40 + fees

April 1 – July 31: $45 + fees

August 1 – Registration close: $55 + fees

LOBSTAH CHALLENGE: Runners interested in the Lobstah Challenge (running both the Half Marathon and 5k) should go to the Lobstah Challenge page for more information NOTE: to register to run the Lobstah Challenge you must register ONLY for the Lobstah Challenge which will automatically enter you into both races. This also includes a special finisher award. DO NOT enter the Half Marathon and 5k separately and expect to be entered into the Lobstah Challange.

Basic Rules

  • The field will be limited to the first 350 runners who enter.
  • Runners entering the Cape Cod Marathon 5K should be adequately trained to complete the course in one hour. 5K entrants must be 6 years of age or older on race day.
  • Strollers and dogs are NOT allowed on course.
  • The Cape Cod Marathon Weekend does not allow, support or encourage the buying, selling or trading of bib numbers for any of our races, for any reason, nor do we allow running a different event without an official transfer to that event. Running with someone else’s name & information or running an event you are not registered for causes chaos and can be potentially dangerous in the event of a medical emergency. Not to mention, we account for all supplies to support our registered runners and ‘bandits’ deplete from those supplies.

2026 Cape Cod Marathon 5k Prize Money

Award winners are only eligible for one prize money award. Overall winners are based on gun time. Course records receive a $50 bonus. There are NO Age Group, Non-binary or Push-Rim/Duo awards in the 5k race. Prize monies are only awarded to those that complete the event in the time limit listed above under Basic Rules. IMPORTANT: All prize monies must be claimed on or before December 15. Any prizes not claimed by this date will be forfeited, and the funds will be donated to a charity of the event host’s choice.


Elite Runner Complimentary Bib Numbers

5k runners who have met the qualifying standard can apply for a complimentary race bib number for the 2026 Cape Cod 5k by sending proof of your qualifying time to director@capecodmarathon.com. Your qualifying time must have been run within the last 3 years on a certified 5k course. Upon our verification of your time, you will receive instructions via email on how to register for the 2026 Cape Cod Marathon 5k. DEADLINE to submit an elite time is September 1st

The 2026 qualifying time is based on the third place time in the 2025 Cape Cod Marathon 5k.  The 5k qualifying times are:

  • Male – 16:33
  • Female – 20:21
